Boost Performance. Save Bandwidth. Stay Secure.
Garlic-Proxy is a lightweight proxy solution for local digital signage networks. It requires no database and can run on a Raspberry Pi or other small devices.
A proxy is especially useful when operating multiple media players in a digital signage network with limited bandwidth—for example, in a large store or shopping mall.
What is a Proxy?
A proxy server is a network cache to save traffic. This is often used by Internet Service providers. As a side effect, the proxy servers IP addresses from the receiving web server. This anonymity increases the security for the user.

Why Use a Digital Signage Proxy?
In large installations with hundreds of connected screens, having each player fetch updates directly from the internet can cause serious bottlenecks. With a reverse proxy, all players share a single internet connection. This not only improves efficiency but also increases security, since the players don’t need direct internet access.
